Physiotherapy
Are you injured or in pain? If so, an Initial Assessment with one of our Specialist Physiotherapist is recommended.
When you arrive to your appointment at the Rehab and Recover Clinic you will be welcomed by our Specialist Physio. Your Clinician will ask you a few questions to get a good understanding of what is wrong. Most importantly, we listen to you about you. Once the questions have been answered, you will then be assessed.
For example, if you have hurt your knee, you will be asked to go on the physio bed, bend and straighten your knee, your physio may then do some special tests to have an idea of what is wrong. You will then be given treatment and a rehab plan. We will explain why we think you are in pain, and we will give you a rehab plan to do before your next booked session. Your session will last approx. 45min-1 hour.
Sports Massage
There are many benefits to professional massage therapy, such as reducing muscle tension, improving circulation, reducing swelling, supporting recovery of soft tissue injuries, helping to reduce anxiety, improving sleep… and the list goes on!

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a controlled wave of mechanical energy used to reduce pain levels. This highly popular machine is ideal for injuries such as tennis elbow, golfers elbow, foot and heel pain (plantar fasciitis) and tendon pain (glute med/ greater trochanter pain, Achilles tendon, patella tendon, rotator cuff tendon). In addition, it is safe and non- invasive. Evidence suggests 3-7 sessions are required.
A Physiotherapy Initial Assessment is required prior to any Shockwave Session to make sure you have been given education around your injury including exercise advice.§
Biomechanical Screening
Whether you want to improve yourself or want to be checked properly on your return to sport, we have the specialist practitioners and equipment to help you.
Using Bio-Mechanical video analysis and Vald Performance Force Plates we are able to analyse data that is provided when testing patients to find out key pieces of information such as:
Weight distribution between each limb
Any balance differences between each limb
Any landing abnormalities
Strength and power deficits when comparing each limb
Risk of re-injury
We also have an isokinetic hand-held dynamometer which allows us to regularly test your strength. This helps us confirm whether you are getting stronger following our rehabilitation guidance and this measure (Force in Newtons) allows you to see your improvements too!
